Overview
NGO-IGS Netherlands: Geosynthetics and Sustainability
A half day symposium hosted by the Netherlands chapter of the IGS (NGO) and the University of Delft on the role of geosynthetics in addressing sustainability in civil and hydraulic engineering. The use of geosynthetics in a variety of applications are proven to dramatically reduce embodied carbon content (30-89%) and reduce energy consumption (up to 85%) when compared with conventional solutions such as steel and concrete.
Chaired by Suzanne van Eekelen with presentations by internationally renowned experts in Geosynthetics: Jorge Zornberg, Kent von Maubeuge, Boyd Ramsey, Wim Voskamp, Jaques Cote and IGS President Sam Allen.
The event will be held in person at TU Delft and simultaneous online streaming.
