International Geosynthetic Society UK Chapter (IGS UK) is delighted to invite you to our first EDI webinar, showcasing the essential role of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) principles in shaping a stronger, more forward‑thinking construction industry. Discover how small, everyday actions can make a big difference to workplace culture.

In this focused 45‑minute session, we’ll unpack why professional inclusion matters and explore the behaviours, language, and interactions that help create a respectful, collaborative environment. Join us to reflect on your role in fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued, heard, and able to contribute fully.

By the end of the session, participants will

  • Understand what Diversity and Inclusion means in practice and its benefits
  • Move beyond compliance to considering inclusive language and behaviours
  • Explore the continuum between acceptable and unacceptable behaviours, considering intention and cultural context
  • Examine the gap between expectations of inclusion to what is appropriate and necessary
